People sometimes ask us how we got involved in this whole "web hosting thing," so we thought it would be a good idea to put up some information about the origin of Spoono Host. If the history looks short, it probably is; we only launched in 2005.
In mid 2004, the creators of web design portal Spoono (Brian Fusco and Akash Goel) and crew decided to expand the scope of Spoono by taking an adventure into web hosting services. For some time, it had become apparent that the most frequently used service by Spoono's core audience, free-lance web designers, was web hosting. So, it only made sense that rather than referring Spoono users to other hosts to meet these needs, Spoono should develop its very own hosting service especially tailored to the needs of the rising web developer. Thus, Spoono Host was born.
Spoono Host was officially launched May 20, 2005.
Our Mascot - Mr. Spoons
On June 28, 2005, we announced the birth of our now-famous mascot; Mr. Spoons. He can be found in most of our promotional material and all throughout our website promoting our tag-line, "Don't Get F*rked!". Mr. Spoons is seen by over 200,000 people from all over the world each day by helping promote our name and our No Gimmicks commitment to the public. Believe in the talking spoon!
